When we say 'no' to something, we are taking back our own power

The power of No

When we say 'no' to something, it can be a very empowering statement - every bit as empowering as saying yes.

The word 'no' is often associated with negativity, especially by those who think that everything should have a positive spin to it. This need not be so, for saying 'no' can actually be every bit as positive as saying yes.

For example; when we say 'no' to waiting in a bank queue or holding in a phone loop, simply to meet the demands of others, we are taking back our own power.

When we say 'no' to accepting invasive body searches at airports or multiple CCTV cameras in our cities, when we refuse to have a vaccination or accept medication that we are told is 'good for us', we are taking back our own power from individuals, corporations and governments who want to control us.

This is a very positive thing to do.

Even saying 'no' to the behaviour of a work colleague or boss, if it is unacceptable and offends our freewill to the point where we feel compromised, then it is right.

I'm not talking here about some of the nonsense currently associated with being politically correct, where for example, a light bulb cannot be changed without a health and safety assessment! That kind of 'no' is taking things too far and is blatantly nonsense.

The real true 'no' is the one that is truly empowering - the one that is a response to the deepest level of knowing within us all. This 'no' is the one that respects our inner truth and awareness of what is. It is the 'no' that recognises what is wrong and responds by refusing to buy into it.

When we really say 'no' to something that we instinctively know and believe to be against the higher spiritual order of life - war for example, then we are acting with the true courage of a sage. We may defy current opinion and our actions may be deemed unpopular -those who always follow the majority and do as they are told will most certainly attack us, but none of this changes what is right.

Imagine if every potential new army recruit, decided to say 'no' to joining an organisation designed not merely to defend, but to invade and attack another nation to serve a political agenda. The army would cease to exist in no time at all.

The power lies within each of us, at every level. We truly have the power of no.
